End of Term 3 2013

What a busy term we have had!  Nine exciting weeks have been full of Speeches, Hockey and Rippa Rugby Tasters, Cross country, Culture Evening ... as well as the usual Maths, Writing, Reading, Circle Time, Topic/Social Science, Handwriting, Spelling etc etc etc.  I have enjoyed the Identity and Culture unit it has allowed the opportunity to learn and show understanding within the class on the cultural backgrounds they have.  Speeches went really well (only 1 child did not present on their own in front of the class).  I think starting with their Mihi, then impromptu and 1 minute speeches helped prepare them.  I was really, really proud of Jerry.  He not only offered to go first, he also delivered a great speech that lasted nearly 3 minutes on his Chinese Culture!!!!  WAY TO GO !!!!.

  1. Hi Julie,
What a fantastic achievement for Jerry! I think the topic this year was fantastic. From what I heard, most of the children liked creating their speeches around this topic. That will be great to include in his end of year report.

  2. Hi Julie
It is so exciting to hear about the successes you had over such a busy term 3! I love the inclusion of circle time in your 'usual' section! that is really heartening to see as this was a real challenge to fit into the timetable when we first introduced the concept. Well done Julie... keep it up.
